About our founder, Ryan Barnes, PE
Ryan founded RPB Engineering with a simple idea: “To leave this place cleaner than I found it.” As a professional civil engineer with 12 years of experience across multiple fields of discipline, Ryan envisioned a new company focused on decentralized stormwater mitigation as the solution to an increasingly polluted Puget Sound.
Through this vision, RPB Engineering is dedicated to serving homeowners, developers, architects, and contractors as they design, permit, and build their projects by offering a wide range of stormwater and civil services.
Ryan is a professional civil engineer with over 12 years focused on hydrology, hydraulics, surface water, site civil, geotechnical, and construction experience in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. He has proven experience in stormwater and drainage design, green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), and low impact development (LID) including bioretention and raingardens.
Career focus includes stormwater permit compliance, field investigations, utilities design, engineering design reports, specifications, continuous flow modeling, and other design/site construction activities. He is a certified erosion and sediment control lead (CESCL) in the State of Washington.
